The Ohio volleyball team started off the "Bash in the Boro" tournament held at Georgia Southern University with a win against South Carolina State. The Bobcats beat the Lady Bulldogs in three straight sets, narrowly taking the first set 25-23.

But the Bobcats got it rolling in the second and third sets winning 25-19 and 25-15. Their margin of victory widened throughout each set.

A three-set win for the Bobcats is not very common up to this point in their season. They have taken five games to five sets this year and four of their five wins, not including today’s win, were in five sets.

In a tournament where Ohio plays two games a day, it is necessary to keep matches short and close out victories quickly to conserve energy for their next opponent. Attack efficiency was one of the keys to their victory today.

The Bobcats finished the match with an attack percentage of .283, their second highest attack percentage of the season. Their highest attack percentage this season came in a straight set win against Marshall last Saturday (.329).

Katie Post had 12 kills on 25 attempts (only two errors) and Faith Robbins had eight kills on 15 attempts. Ohio had two more errors today than they did in their three set win over Marshall last Saturday, but they had the same end result.

The Bobcats look to keep their foot on the gas and maintain their attacking efficiency in their second game of the day tonight at 7:00 p.m. against the host team of the tournament, Georgia Southern University.
