Ohio recorded its second victory of the day on Saturday at Southern Georgia University by defeating Presbyterian College in a four-set match, 26-24, 25-13, 22-25, 25-11. They finished the tournament with a record of 3-1.
The Bobcats were led by senior Katie Post, who finished the match with 16 kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .500.
Freshman Chelsea Bilger also played a vital role in the Bobcat’s victory over Presbyterian with an additional 13 kills of her own.
Although they managed to edge out their opponent, the first set proved challenging for the Bobcats; the score remained tight throughout the set as neither team could pull away. However, the Bobcats clawed their way through to finally claim the set, 26-24.
The second set proved to be easier for the Bobcats as they maintained a steady lead and dominated 25-13.
Not ready to quit, Presbyterian climbed back into the match by winning a hard-fought third set with a score of 25-22.
The Bobcats, however, put it away in the fourth set with a match-ending score of 25-11, including a 6-0 run and a 14-point win.
MAC play is scheduled to begin September 23 when the Bobcats take on Bowling Green at Ohio’s Convocation Center at 7 p.m.
