Lexie Hartnett earned her second award of the season after being named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week.
Against Bowling Green, Hartnett had nine kills and seven blocks. Three of the blocks were solo, a season high for the redshirt sophomore.
Hartnett hit a season high .545 against rival Miami and had six blocks and six kills in the win over the RedHawks, helping Ohio go 2-0 on the weekend. Hartnett also recorded a season high two assists on Saturday.
On the weekend, Hartnett led the team in blocking and finished with 15 kills and hit .344 overall. After the first weekend of conference play, she leads the MAC in blocking, averaging 2.15 blocks per set. For the entire season, Hartnett sits second in the conference behind teammate Katie Post for blocking, and has an average 1.08 blocks per set. Hartnett also ranks eighth in hitting percentage after the weekend and ninth in points with 23.5.
