The Broadcast Education Association has honored WOUB’s student-produced sports show “Bobcat Sports Showcase” with a third-place win in the student sports TV Event/Production competition.

The Broadcast Education Association (BEA) is the professional association for professors, industry professionals and graduate students who are interested in teaching and research related to electronic media and multimedia enterprises.

Seniors Tanner Smith and Grant Burkhardt redesigned “Bobcat Sports Showcase” in Fall 2011 to focus on Ohio varsity sports. Previously, the show was called “Bobcat Blitz” and only covered Ohio University football.

Viewers can see “Bobcat Sports Showcase” on Fridays at 11 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. and online at woub.org/sports/bobcat. You can also follow them on Twitter @bobcatshowcase.

The award will be presented at the BEA convention held April 15 – 18 in Las Vegas.
