WOUB Public Media, The Athens News and The Marietta Times will collaborate for a special news program "Newswatch In-Depth: Fracking Frenzy" set to air on Tuesday, Feb. 28 beginning at 8 p.m.

The 90-minute program will bring together four panelists to answer viewer questions on hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking, and how it will impact the region both economically and environmentally.

News stories about fracking from WOUB, The Athens News and The Marietta Times are included on a special coverage page on WOUB.org.

Both papers and WOUB's news stories on fracking can be found by scanning the special Flare Code with a QR reader on a smart phone.

WOUB's Tim Sharp will moderate the program and The Athens News Editor Terry Smith will field questions to the panel during the program.

The program will be shown on WOUB-TV, aired on WOUB-FM and streamed online at woub.org.

Viewers can submit questions to the panel by calling 800-456-2044 beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 or tweet them to @woubnews with the hashtag #indepth. You can also e-mail them to news@woub.org or submit them by going to the contact form at woub.org.
