Ohio notched its best team placement in two years Sunday, finishing third at the Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. After shooting 320 on Saturday and 319 on Sunday for a combined 639, The Bobcats finished just three strokes behind Oakland University for second place and 13 strokes off the lead. Indianapolis University won the event with a 626 two-day score.

Senior Megan Weaver finished second among the field with a career performance. Weaver’s day one 73 had her tied for the lead going into Sunday. She would shoot a 76 and finish just one stroke off of Indianapolis’ Darin Pinnick to end the tournament. The second place finish is tied for the highest in Weaver’s career, and it is the seventh time she has finished in the top five in a tournament.

Sophomore Kara Brinkmann shot 160 for the tournament to finish tied for 13th, and senior Meryl Weaver and sophomore Kristen Helmsdoerfer shot 166 and 167, respectively, to finish tied for 35th and 37th.

The third place team finish is the highest for Ohio since the 2010 Falcon Invitational where the team also finished third. The Bobcats beat out Bowling Green and Northern Illinois to secure the highest finish of any MAC team in the tournament. Ohio will stay in Northeast Ohio to take on Bowling Green in a match play event Monday.
