OhioHealth announced today that Greg Long has accepted the position of president and chief executive officer at O'Bleness Health System in Athens.

Long is currently the chief operating officer at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville.  He will begin at O'Bleness on July 16.

"This transition is bittersweet for me, as I have truly enjoyed my time at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville and made many new friends," said Long.  "At the same time, I am very excited about the opportunity to continue serving Athens County in my future role."

Long replaces former O'Bleness president and CEO John Yanes, who resigned May 17.

Larry Thornhill, vice president of Regional System Development for OhioHealth, will serve as president at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville and LaMar Wyse will return there to serve as interim COO.

Long is an alumnus of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas and earned his Masters of Public Administration from Wilmington College in Delaware.
