The body of a man who went missing after being shot in the head on June 12 has been found in Morgan County, but his alleged shooter is still on the loose.

Sheriff Thomas Jenkins says his officers received a call Wednesday at 6:51 p.m. reporting the possible location of a body.

The body is believed to be John Davis III, 36, who was reportedly shot in the head three times in an altercation last week.

Witnesses told officers Timmy Stevens, 39, shot Davis while the two were arguing at a home south of Malta.

Stevens left the scene with Davis in a white Kia Forte.

The Morgan County coroner has ordered an autopsy on Davis' body.

The body is now at the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

Jenkins says anyone with information on Stevens' whereabouts should call his office at 740-962-4044.  Stevens is considered armed and dangerous.
