Thornville Man Dead After Altercation

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the death of a Thornville man after an altercation Monday night.

According to officers with the Lancaster post of the highway patrol, 51-year-old James Foucht began assaulting another man at a residence off Township Road 1066 around 9 p.m.

The victim attempted to flee in his truck but Foucht held onto the side and continued to assault him as he drove away.

Officers said that the truck traveled a short distance before Foucht eventually fell off.

He was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The man Foucht assaulted was also taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The reasons for the dispute between the two men, along with many other facts, are still unknown.
