More than 1,000 Washington County customers of American Electric Power lost electrical service Tuesday afternoon.
Jeff Rennie of AEP said those who lost power were almost entirely part of just one outage.
More than 1,060 customers lost their service at 1:19 p.m. just as storms were moving through the region.
Despite the timing Rennie said it was not certain what specifically caused the power to go out.
According to AEP's outage website, more than 5,000 customers were without power Tuesday afternoon with most of those in Franklin County with 2,607 without service.
