Ohio Football Leads MAC East in Preseason Poll
< < Back toThe MAC Preseason Football Poll is out and the Ohio Bobcats are sitting at the top of the East.
The 'Cats earned 17 first place votes to take a strong hold of the first place spot. Toledo earned seven first place votes and took the number one spot in the West Division.
Ohio returns 15 starters and 49 letter-winners to the Bobcats squad for the 2012 campaign. In 2011, Ohio went 10-4 to take the MAC East Division Title and won its first bowl game in school history with a 24-23 victory over Utah State in the Idaho Potato Bowl.
Toledo welcomes back 12 starters and 48 letter-winners after a 9-4 season last year, with a 7-1 conference record.
The Bobcats earned five first place votes to win the MAC Championship game, while Toledo came next in line with three.
The MAC Championship game is November 30, at Ford Field in Detroit.
