Rural Action is bringing in a new batch of 14 volunteers to do environmental projects.

The volunteers are AmeriCorps workers and they start work today.

They're participating in a program referred to as Ohio Stream Restore Corps.

From the Rural Action headquarters in Trimble, they will work in six watersheds, doing water monitoring, community outreach and education, and clean-ups.

Rural Action says previous AmeriCorps workers served over 5200 children and adults through environmental education.

A swearing-in ceremony for the new AmeriCorps class will be held this afternoon at 1:30.
