Football season is on the horizon, but Ohio basketball fans will now know just what the 2012-13 season may hold with the release of the 2012-13 schedule.
Ohio's schedule features 19 home games and numerous road trips for both non-conference and conference play. The 'Cats hit the road to play Memphis, Oklahoma, Robert Morris and Massachusetts. Portland, UNC-Wilmington, Wofford, Hampton University, Richmond and St. Bonaventure all make trips to the Convo before the start of MAC play.
The team will play the same exhibition game as last year with Mercyhurst, and take on some familiar faces as last year in Portland, Oakland, Marshall, and Robert Morris. Ohio finished 3-1 against those teams, not including the exhibition.
The team will face a mixture of teams from different conferences and the breakdown is as follows: A-10 (3), C-USA (2), MEAC (2), Big 12 (1), Summit (1), Southern (1), Big South (1), WCC (1), CAA (1), NEC (1).
The Bobcats start MAC play with a visit from Buffalo on January 9, before traveling to Western Michigan to face the Broncos.
The 'Cats take on rival Miami on January 23 and then again in March. A rematch of the MAC Championship game with Ohio against Akron will take place February 2 and 27th. Christian will see his former team on January 26 and February 16.
