Missing Athens Co. Man Found In The Plains

UPDATE 11:06 A.M. The search for a missing 18-year-old Athens County man is over.

According to an Athens County Public Information Officer, Pawel Parkinson was located near 7828 Wildwood Lane in The Plains around 10:25 a.m. Wednesday.

An area resident called 911 after spotting Parkinson.

Sheriff Pat Kelly says crews located Parkinson and took him to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital and later transported to Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

No word on his condition.


UPDATE: 9:42 A.M. Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly has released the identity of the man who called 911 and claimed he had overdosed and was going into the woods Tuesday night.

Kelly says 18-year-old Pawel Parkinson was last seen around 7 p.m. on September 4 wearing blue jeans and a yellow t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 740-593-6633.


Athens County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man they say called 911 claiming he had overdosed and was going into the woods.

Sheriff Pat Kelly says his officers have resumed their search off State Route 682 in The Plains Wednesday morning.
 
Kelly says officers and firemen searched the woods after the 18-year-old man called 911 last night.
 
They had no luck finding the man.
 
According to a post by the Richland Area Volunteer Fire Department on their Facebook page, first responders are searching between Porter Lane and Wildwood Lane on State Route 682.
 
Motorists in the area are asked to exercise caution.
