As the Sheridan Generals returned home this week to face a Morgan Raiders team who is looking to surpass its win total from last year. The Raiders will have to wait another week to do so, as the Generals took care of business with a 35-12 win Friday night.

Sheridan sophomore quarterback Luke Fox led the Generals to an early touchdown hitting a wide open Tyler King for a 15-yard touchdown pass to give them a 7-0 advantage. The Raiders answered quickly with a 46-yard run from their fullback Justin King, who finished the game with 157 yards on 18 attempts and two touchdowns on the night for the Raiders.

On the Generals third possession, coach Paul Culver Jr. decided it was junior quarterback Corey Cilprano’s turn and on his first possession led the Generals down the field for a 42-yard touchdown run by running back Chase Heath to put the Generals up 14-7.

Running was the theme of the game from the get go with a total of 604 rushing yards for the game between the two teams.  Sheridan had 342 of those rushing yards as their offense dominance continued tonight. Quarterback Corey Ciprano made a strong case to earn the starting quarterback spot tonight, after taking a majority of the snaps. It wasn’t all Sheridan tonight though as Head and Kaleb Driggs combined for 262 yards on 46 attempts for the Raiders.

Sheridan moved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in MVL play. Sheridan will travel to Crooksville next week to try and continue these dominant performaces, while Morgan will host Philo next week to try and bounce back from the loss.
