On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, The Athens Municipal Arts Commission's Andrea Lewis talks with Randy Cohen, vice president of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts, and Donna Collins, executive director of Ohio Citizens for the Arts.
The trio discuss the recent Arts and Economic Prosperity IV study, in which Athens County partnered with Americans for the Arts to quantify the impact that the arts have in the community.
According to the study, art and cultural events generated more than 700 jobs in Athens County during 2010 and had an economic impact of more than $24 million.
Cohen and Collins were in Athens to give a series of public talks at the Athens City Council Chambers, Ohio University's Forum Theater and Stuart's Opera House.
