UPDATE 10:53 A.M. Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney is heading to Scioto County this weekend.

Bryan Davis, the Communications Co-chair with the Scioto County Republican party, said Romney will be at Shawnee State University Saturday.

"One of the reasons I believe he's coming to Scioto County is because of the economically depressed area that we're in. We have an 11.2 percent unemployment rate down here, which is a full 4 points higher than the state average of 7.2 percent and it's a very bad area, we've lost a lot of jobs," said Davis.

Davis said the event will be held on Alumni Green at 2:05 p.m. Saturday.

The event is a victory rally that also will feature country music artist Jamie O'Neal.

U.S. Senator Rob Portman and Ohio 2nd Congressional District candidate Brad Wenstrup will also be in attendance.

The doors open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for the event.

Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Scioto County Republican Party Headquarters or online.
