Ohio kicker Matt Weller was named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week by the league offices on Monday. It is his third time winning the award this season.

Weller moved into fourth place on the all-time MAC scoring list in the Akron game as he scored 10 points.

Weller surpassed former Toledo running back Chester Taylor in the game. He connected on four extra points and had two field goals from 44 and 29 yards out in Ohio’s victory. He also kicked five touchbacks in the game.

Weller and the Bobcats have a bye this week.
