This Week 9 matchup between Eastern (5-3, 4-2 TVC-Hocking) and Federal Hocking (6-2, 5-1 TVC-Hocking) will be an epic battle to decide current third place in the TVC Hocking.

Both teams have turned their programs around from last year and both are now fighting for playoff spots in their divisions.

Federal Hocking has been on a roll this year thanks to the solid play of senior quarterback Kyle Jackson who has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. First year head coach Phil Hoffman is also excited about his defense. The Lancers have only given up 26 points in the last six games.

Fed Hock is in a tough seed right now in Division 5, Region 23 with a No. 13 seed, but look to move on up the rankings with a tough win at home this week.

Eastern has been a surprise in the league this year. After a three-win season last year, they already have five wins this year. Coach Jason Peck is pleased with the play of his quarterback Joey Scowden, as he has leads the Eagle offense to many touchdowns.

Eastern is also battling for playoff spot but in their Division 6, Region 23 they have a No. 10 seed. A win over the Lancers in Stewart on Friday could give them what they need to jump into the playoff picture.

Needless to say this is a must win for each team. The winner of the game keeps playoff hopes alive, and the loser may be out. The key in this matchup is the quarterback play. Jackson and Scowden must be able to put points on the board, and lead their team. But look for the defense of these two teams to make the stands. This will be an interesting game that has a message, win or go home.
