Tri-Valley senior running back and do-it-all player Austin Jones has led the Scotties all season long, and without Jones, the Scotties perfect 9-0 record so far may not have been.

Jones continues to put up impressive numbers each and every game and has led the Scotties in rushing yards six out of eight games. So far this season, he has averaged 145 yards per game and has 1,307 total rushing yards. In the first half of the season Jones had just 15 total touchdowns and since then, in the past three games, he has managed to rack up another seven touchdowns.

Despite the fact that Jones has suffered a lingering shoulder injury most of the season, he continues to be the Scotties go-to-guy.

Jones can not only run, but he can catch the ball just as well. Thanks to the Nathan Strock and Jones dynamic duo, Jones has picked up 270 receiving yards in the past nine games with a total of 1,588 all-purpose yards.

What makes Jones most impressive is his ability to play on both sides of the ball. Jones leads the Scotties defense with 39 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles.

In Jones’ best game of the season against John Glenn in week eight, he accounted for 240 of the Scotties 355 total rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Jones continues to progress as the year goes on, and with just one games left in the regular season, Jones will look to carry his team to an MVL title and onto the playoffs.
