Kelly Lamberti and Serena Warner were named MAC East Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their efforts in leading Ohio Volleyball to a regular season MAC Title over the weekend.
In road matches against Buffalo and Akron, Lamberti totaled 36 kills with a hitting percentage of over .380. Against Akron, Lamberti compiled 21 kills and 13 digs for her 15th double-double of the season. This is the third time this season the sophomore has won a MAC weekly award.
Warner led Ohio in blocks over the weekend and was second on the team in points in her two matches. The sophomore had nine kills in a three-set win against Buffalo and six block assists in a four-set victory over Akron. This is the second time Warner has been honored by the MAC.
The duo of Lamberti and Warner Sweeps the MAC East Weekly awards for the second time this season. Lamberti and Warner also captured MAC East Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on Sep. 4.
Ohio begins MAC Tournament play Friday against Ball State. The Bobcats hold the No. 1 seed in the tournament, which is being held at a neutral site in Geneva, Ohio, this season.
