The Ohio Bobcats were looking for revenge against Illinois following Friday's heartbreaking overtime loss, and revenge was exactly what they got. Ohio picked up the win by a convincing score of 7-1.

Both defenses proved to be tough in the start of this one, but Ohio's offense got a breakthrough late in the first, as they scored two unanswered goals with less than two minutes left in the period. From there, Ohio took off and didn't look back.
Ohio commanded the second not allowing a single goal to the Illini and scoring four of their own. Ohio played physical, not allowing anything easy for Illinois but making big plays for themselves. J.D. Howard played a big role in the offense tonight, as he finished the game with two goals and was named gold star of the game.
Coach Dan Morris also made a big move giving Matt Michno the starting goalie role. Michno dominated the Illini's offense by only allowing a single goal. He also recorded 23 saves and picked up the silver star of the night.
Ohio's offensive attack frustrated the Illini all night, as they committed four penalties that the Bobcats took advantage of by getting two power play goals. Bobcats' shorthanded defense was also able to prevail by not allowing a single power play goal for Illinois.
Next week, the Bobcats will play host to the Minot State Beavers at the Bird.
Note: Other scorers for the Bobcats included Nick Rostek, Michael Harris, Diego Breckenridge, Nick Hudeck and Zander Dover.
