Police say a Cambridge resident was stabbed Sunday by an unknown suspect who is still at large.

The 35-year-old male, whose name has not yet been released, told Cambridge Police he was approached by the suspect as he was walking down Dewey Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said the two got into an altercation, when the victim knocked out his attacker and walked away. The suspect allegedly then got up, stabbed the male victim and ran away.

Police said the victim walked home and was taken to the hospital by his girlfriend.

He described his attacker as a black male, about 5' 7" tall with a slender build.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, with facial hair and an afro.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cambridge Police Department at 740-439-4431.
