A former Marietta City School District employee faces charges of theft in office after being indicted by a Washington County grand jury.

Barbara Mincks was an education management information systems coordinator.

The state auditor's office says Mincks manipulated and falsified financial records for the purpose of committing theft and stole more than $145,000 over a period of five years.

Sheriff's detectives say Mincks admitted to stealing from the district when they questioned her earlier this year.

The theft in office charge is a third degree felony.
