On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, host Jackie Wolf talks with Managing Director of Brick Monkey Theater and playwright Merri Biechler about end of life care and Biechler’s original play Confessions of a Reluctant Caregiver.
“Confessions of a Reluctant Caregiver has now become part of the medical school curriculum. It is done for students every year when they study geriatrics, and it’s a play about taking care of an elderly, dying parent”, says Wolf.
Biechler wrote Confessions after losing both her parents to cancer, and found inspiration in Margaret Edson’s play Wit, a one-act play which focuses on a woman’s struggle with stage IV ovarian cancer.
Biechler and Wolf also discuss a host of topics pertaining to end of life care for a parent or loved one.
