A Lancaster woman is sentenced to serve seven years in prison for trying to set her neighbors' home on fire while they were asleep inside.

Sherie Bomar had previously pleaded guilty to one count of attempted aggravated arson.

She appeared in Fairfield County Common Pleas Court Thursday.

Bomar was being monitored by police when she tried to set fire to the house on July 11.

Fairfield County Assistant Prosecutor Darren Meade says Bomar will receive credit for the 177 days she has already served.

The victims did not request any restitution.

Bomar has had two other arson-related convictions over the past 15 years.
