The Mid-American Conference announced Friday that the Feb. 2 game between East Division rivals Akron and Ohio will be broadcasted live from the James A. Rhodes Arena on ESPNU at 5 p.m.
The Bobcats (10-5, 1-0 MAC) opened MAC play with an 86-68 victory over Buffalo, where Cooper had 21 points and seven assists. Cooper is considered one of the best players in the conference and is up for MAC Player of the Year. He has the most assists in MAC history with 818, which is one away from being in the top 25 in NCAA Division I history.
Akron (10-4, 1-0 MAC) has started their conference play in similar fashion, with a 65-43 win over Western Michigan. They’re currently on a six-game winning streak. The Zips feature one of the top big men in the country in seven-foot Zeke Marshall. Marshall is currently fourth in the nation with 3.64 blocks a game.
Both teams continue MAC play this Saturday. Akron travels to Northern Illinois, while Ohio goes for their first road win against Western Michigan.
