The South Gallia Lady Rebels dominated all aspects of their matchup against the Trimble Lady Tomcats en route to a 56-40 victory on Monday night. A late rally by the Trimble brought the game within 20, but South Gallia showed why they’re near the top of the TVC-Hocking standings.

The Lady Rebels got off to a hot start and the Lady Tomcats were never able to get back in the game. Their small roster struggled to calm themselves down as the game progressed, until the fourth quarter where the Lady Tomcats finally took a dent into the South Gallia lead by outscoring the Rebels 18-8.

Nikki Kish wasn’t seen in the game until the fourth quarter making it even tougher for coach Dave Richards to substitute in players when his girls got into foul trouble.  However, she still scored nine points in her limited playing time. Tia Altier and Morgan Murphy each put 10 points up and grabbed three and five boards respectively.

Ellie Bostic and Jasmyne Johnson led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 15 and 12 points respectively. Meghan Caldwell was big on defense for the Rebels picking up four steals.

The Lady Tomcats don’t have much time to rest as they’ll be headed to Nelsonville-York to take on the Lady Buckeyes on Wednesday. Trimble will be looking for its first non-conference win of the season, which won’t come easy against the 8-3 Lady Buckeyes.
