Athens police are asking residents to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior after a string of car burglaries.

At least three car owners are without a stereo system after break-ins Tuesday night.

Captain Ralph Harvey of the Athens Police Department said all the cars had windows that were smashed in.

The cars were all parked in the Stimson Street and Mill Street area and were entered via their broken windows and their stereos were cut out.

Harvey says two of the three cars had been parked for several days leading up to the robberies.

Police don't believe the thief targeted anything other than the stereos because money in one of the cars was left untouched.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Athens police at 740-592-3315.
