A Portsmouth man was taken to the hospital after leading troopers on a chase Monday night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Rocky Newman, 38, sped away after being pulled over during a traffic stop on State Route 52.
Troopers say Newman turned onto Careys-Run Pond Creek Road and crashed into a pole just after 9:30 p.m.
Newman was flown to a Huntington hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The passenger's name has not been released.
Troopers say charges are still pending against Newman.
