Ohio Softball's Alyssa Wolfe and Lauren McClary were named MAC East Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, by league offices Tuesday.

In five games over the weekend, Wolfe hit .364 with five runs and seven RBIs to help the Bobcats to a 4-1 record in the UTC Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn. The junior outfielder also hit her first two career home runs during the weekend, the second of which was the decisive hit in the top of the seventh inning of a 3-2 win over Tennessee Tech.

McClary pitched her way to a 2-1 record on the weekend with a 3.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts. The sophomore threw a complete-game shutout against North Carolina Central on Friday, allowing just two hits in an 11-0 five-inning win. The next day, McClary pitched 4.2 innings in the second leg of a doubleheader against Boston College. After losing the first contest to Lipscomb, McClary allowed just one run in a relief role to lead Ohio to an 8-6 comback victory over the Goldne Eagles.

This is the third time McClary has won MAC East Pitcher of the Week in two seasons. Wolfe took home a weekly award for the first time.

Ohio's 11-3 start is the best since the 1994 season. The Bobcats travel to Seattle for five games from March 7-9.
