Five new acts have been added to the 2013 Nelsonville Music Festival, with a Friday night headliner to be announced in the coming weeks.

Gogol Bordello, an internationally acclaimed gypsy-punk ensemble, will kick off the fest on Thursday, May 30. Formed in 1999, the Manhattan-based group has recorded dozens of albums and film soundtracks, appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and performed at music festivals around the world.

Other additions include New Jersey's Screaming Females, Old Light from Portland, Ore., Wisconsin singer-songwriter Field Report and Akron soul group Wesley Bright and The Hi-Lites.

These bands join an already stellar lineup that includes Wilco, John Prine, Mavis Staples, Sharon Van Etten, Calexico, Jonathan Richman and many other national, regional and local acts.

The four-day festival, which takes place May 30-June 2 at Hocking College, will feature over 40 bands on multiple stages, along with camping, kids' activities, local artisan vendors, food, a beer garden and more.

The Nelsonville Music Festival is a production of Stuart's Opera House. Visit www.nelsonvillefest.org for tickets and information.
