The Mid-American Conference announced Friday that Ohio’s Kiyanna Black has been named to the 2012-13 MAC All-Freshman Team, the first Ohio freshman to receive this accolade since Shavon Robinson did in 2011.

Black averaged 9.6 points per game and scored in double-digits 13 times this season. She scored 26 points on 11-of-24 shooting on Jan. 17 against rival Miami.

Black was the only Ohio player recognized in the All-MAC teams. Other All-MAC Freshman Team honorees include Ball State’s Nathalie Fontaine, Buffalo’s MacKenzie Loesing, Eastern Michigan’s Bianca Cage and Western Michigan’s Miracle Woods.

Black and the Bobcats will be playing at Miami in the first round of the MAC Tournament on Saturday, March 9.  Both teams will tip off at 2 p.m.
