The Mid-American Conference announced its Women’s Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, and Ohio runner Juli Accurso took home the hardware for the second time this season.

On Friday, Accurso broke the Ohio school record at the Wake Forest Open with a first place time of 16:21.56. The second-place finisher crossed the finish line 46 seconds after Accurso.

Accurso’s time should be fast enough to qualify her for the NCAA Regional competition in the spring.

The awards keep coming for this Bobcat. In addition to her two MAC awards, the USTFCCCA named her the 2012 Great Lakes Region Runner of the Year. Her school record time of 20:07 at the 2012 NCAA Great Lakes Regional earned her the award.

She also earned back-to-back All American honors in November.

Accurso will be running again during the weekend of March 29-30. Ohio will take part in split-squad events in Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Ca., and the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
