Kennedy Museum to Host Q&A with Athens Comics Artist

In conjunction with the exhibition FANTASTIC! The Comic Art of Sandy Plunkett, the Kennedy Museum of Art will host “A Conversation with Sandy Plunkett” on Thursday, April 11, from 7-8 p.m. at The Ridges Auditorium.

The event will feature an interview with Sandy Plunkett conducted by Jared Gardner, professor of English and Film Studies and director of Popular Culture Studies at Ohio State University.

Dr. Gardner is a contributor to The Comic Journal and the Library of American Comics as well as the author of Projections: Comics and the History of 21st-century Storytelling (Stanford University Press, 2012).

The exhibition FANTASTIC! The Comic Art of Sandy Plunkett, open until June 2, features 50 works tracing Sandy Plunkett’s career, from his early days within the industry to more recent commercial and independent works. The exhibition catalog will be available for sale after the program.
