Ohio Track And Field Completes Jesse Owens Classic

The Ohio Bobcats track and field team competed in Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The event was a two-day meet.

In the first day of competition, Melissa Thompson finished second in the 1,500m in a time of 4:30.72. This time is the best for a student-athlete in the MAC this season and earned her an automatic bid into the MAC Championships

Juli Accurso finished second in the 5,000m with a time of 16:36.22 and Ashley Waddington finished fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:48.65.

In the second day of competition, Danielle Winningham finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:12.11 and Alexis Geiger had a finish of fifth in the event with a jump of 5.79m.

The Bobcats next meet is at the Hillsdale “Gina” Relays in Hillsdale, Mi.
