The Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Athens County Thursday.
The call for help came in just after 1:30 p.m.
A media release said Charles E. Grim, 65, of Athens was traveling west on State Route 56 when he traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
Grim suffered serious injuries and was transported by Athens EMS to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, then Med-Flighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
The Highway Patrol said State Route 56 was closed for about an hour while emergency personnel responded.
Charges against Grim are pending.
