Athens Woman Attacks Boyfriend With A Meat Cleaver

Athens County deputies responded to a call on Columbus Road Wednesday about an apparent stabbing.
Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly said police determined Amanda Ruth, 34, assaulted Christopher McCoy, 37, with a meat cleaver.
Deputies said the assault was over a domestic dispute.
McCoy suffered from lacerations to the hand and forehead and was taken to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens.
Ruth was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and was charged with felonious assault.
