An Albany woman was arrested Thursday for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old child.
Jennifer Davidson, 36, was arrested by an Athens County sheriff’s detective on one count of rape involving a juvenile, a first-degree felony, according to reports.
The investigation was assisted by Athens County Children Services, Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly said.
The incident allegedly occurred on or around May 28 of this year.
Davidson was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and had her initial appearance with the Athens County Municipal Court on Friday. She is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on June 13.
Davidson’s bond was set at $25,000, and a judge ordered that she not have any unsupervised contact with juveniles.
Athens County Sheriff’s Office would not release further information related to the investigation or arrest. It is unknown whether Davidson knew or was related to the victim.
County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn could not be immediately reached for more information on the arrest.
