A Vinton County woman wants her family's possessions back after a bank's employees mistakenly took them when they confused her home with a foreclosed property across the street.

Homeowner Katie Barnett says her McArthur home was wrongly repossessed while she was away with her family last month. When they returned to the house, the locks had been changed and many of their belongings were missing.

Barnett has asked First National Bank of Wellston for $18,000. But she says the bank has been resistant and has asked her to show receipts for everything she alleges the bank took.

First National's CEO has said the bank wants to compensate the family "fairly and equitably," but he says the value Barnett is putting on the items is inconsistent with what bank employees reported.
