A Kentucky man faces burglary charges in connection with what the Scioto County Sheriff Office describes as a crime spree in Franklin Furnace.

In a news release Sheriff Marty Donini says deputies arrested James Woodel, 22, Thursday and charged him with four 2nd degree felony counts of burglary.

The Sheriff says four residents in the area reported burglaries over a three-day period starting July 26th.

In one of the burglaries, the Sheriff says a 9-year-old boy was home alone and talked to the suspect as he removed items from the home.

The sheriff says jewelry, electronics and guns were some of the items taken from homes.

The Sheriff says the investigation is ongoing and other suspects will be charged at a later date.
