The Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery is hosting Harry Potter’s World on Saturdays through Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is part of a traveling panel exhibit, Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine, and explores the Renaissance traditions that played an important role in the development of modern science.
Activities include a variety of live programming every week, including potions, plants, fortune telling, a magic show, live animals, a flying surprise and rotating stations where guests can explore invisible writing, see their DNA, make their own potions and study engineering and building principles.
The exhibit is made possible by the National Institutes of Health, the National Library of Medicine and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Jason Reed Foundation is a major sponsor of the six-week event at the Discovery Museum.
The museum is located in the Market on State on East State Street in Athens. Suggested donations of $2 per person are accepted.
