The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm watch for parts of the region until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
According the NWS Belmont Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties are under the watch.
The primary threat from the system are wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and large hail up to an inch and a half in diameter.
A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. The NWS says persons in these areas shoudl be on the look out for threatening weather conditions.
