Canterbury Sentenced To Seven Years In Prison

A National Guardsmen from Gallipolis has been sentenced to 7 years in jail for raping an intoxicated Ohio University student in September 2011.

Last week, an Athens County jury found Levi Canterbury, 23, guilty of one count of rape in which he knowingly engaged in sexual conduct with a person who was “substantially impaired” at the time of the sexual contact. The jury also found Canterbury guilty of another count of rape charging him with using force when raping the woman.

On Thursday, Canterbury was sentenced to 7 years in jail with credit for time served (668 days). He was also ordered to pay court costs of $10,000 within 12 months.
