The 2013 Mid-American Conference Preseason Coaches Poll was released Wednesday. The Bobcats earned two first-place votes and were predicted to be second in the MAC. The 'Cats are only behind their rival Miami (OH). Ohio also received one vote to win the MAC Tournament.
Ohio is coming off of an 8-9 campaign in 2012, and they hope to improve on that record to meet or exceed its predicted rank.
The Bobcats are bringing back Jessica Jue and Luli Gomez Teruel, two of the top three scorers from the 2012 season. Ohio lost four seniors last year, but it hopes last year's trials will lead to much needed experience for this year's ambitions.
The team begins its season on Aug. 31 at Boston College. The 'Cats are set to face predicted first place team, Miami (OH), on Oct. 5.
