Ohio University President Roderick McDavis Introduces Inclusion And Disabilities Blog

Updated Tue, Oct 1, 2013 8:56 am

Ohio University prides itself on our inclusive, supportive atmosphere. Today, through the launch of “The Journey ~ Embracing Inclusion” blog, we hope to further our commitment to fostering a welcoming community for all. Utilizing the web and social media, this blog will allow the thoughts, ideas, stories and journeys of people concerned about inclusion and disabilities to be shared across the globe. By making known the triumphs and challenges of persons with disabilities, we aim to promote the mission of the Presidential Advisory Council on Disability and Accessibility Planning (PACDAP) and provide a valuable community resource.

The outreach effort for this blog will include the faculty, staff and students of all Ohio University campuses.  In addition, Ohio University alumni, members of the Athens community, and people across the country will be invited to contribute. I also invite you to join the conversation by sharing your own personal experiences, observations, ideas and concerns with inclusion and accessibility. Through open dialogue, we will bring our University community one step closer to PACDAP’s goal of creating pathways for those living with disabilities.

Thank you for taking time to learn about inclusion and accessibility at Ohio University. It is my hope that the launch of “The Journey ~ Embracing Inclusion” blog will enable you to experience issues of inclusion in a deeper way.

Cordially,

Roderick J. McDavis
President
