Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville will host a night of award-winning bluegrass with Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice and the Idletymes Bluegrass Band on Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m.

Nominated numerous times for Male Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA), Junior Sisk is at the top of his game.

Sisk's songwriting talents helped The Lonesome River Band make their ascent into bluegrass stardom in the early 1990s. He then he became a member of Wyatt Rice & Santa Cruz and ultimately Blueridge, again reaching new audiences that would eventually follow him on his own musical path.

In 1998, Sisk formed the group Ramblers Choice. Together they recorded and released their first project, Sounds Of The Mountains, and contributed to the award-winning The Stanley Gospel Tradition.

The Idletymes Bluegrass Band offers a unique blend of hard-driving, straightforward bluegrass music with tight, high harmonies and an impressive portfolio of original songs. This band has been performing throughout the Eastern U.S. since 1985 and is comprised of talented musicians with deep bluegrass roots.
