The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that Ohio’s Luli Gomez Teruel was named the MAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals last weekend.
The Salta, Argentina, native was the driving force behind the Bobcats' 2-0 sweep in Missouri. The senior had two goals against Missouri State on Friday, one in the first half and the other in the second half. Luli Gomez’s second goal forced the game into overtime where the Bobcats prevailed.
On Sunday, Gomez Teruel notched a team-high two goals for Ohio against St. Louis. She didn’t score until the second half, where she extended Ohio’s lead to 3-0. She added another goal later in the period, earning the Bobcats a 4-1 victory.
Gomez Teruel's 19 points and nine goals lead Ohio this season.
