Governor John Kasich signed an executive order Thursday that provides funds for new winter coats for at-risk children in four Ohio counties.
Executive Order 2013-11 K authorizes the expenditure of $100,000 in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. The funds will be used by the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to partner with Operation Warm. It will be used to provide 3,125 new winter coats to at-risk children in Montgomery, Jackson, Vinton and Pike counties.
Local Community Action Agencies will be used to help identify eligible children and to distribute the coats.
