Campus Crime Alert Following Attempted Robbery

Ohio University Police have issued a campus crime alert after a male student reported that a man tried to rob him.

According to police, the incident happened at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday.

The victim told authorities that he was walking on the path that leads from Baker University Center and University Terrace near Parking Lot 84.

The victim said he was pushed to the ground from behind by the alleged robber as he demanded property from him.

Authorities say the victim was able to fight off his attacker and managed to get away.  The victim was not physically injured according  to police.

The suspect is described as a young white heavyset male with long dark hair, wearing a dark colored hoodie and jeans.
